Class of '54

Twenty-two people gathered to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Class of ‘54 reunion held on August 28/14. We started the afternoon with delicious freshly baked platz made by Herta Unruh. [Mary Unruh’s mother]. This set the tone for an enjoyable afternoon.

Some time was spent getting reacquainted and caught up with each others lives. We are getting older and so our musings included many happy events as well as some sad notes. However the competitive spirit had not changed as was evident by the lively board games that followed.

Another highlight included a tour of the school guided by the principal Fred Pauls. The campus has expanded dramatically. So much has changed! This included the impressive library, the biology lab, the large multi-purpose room and much more. The tour and the explanations given by Mr. Pauls were very much appreciated. Our class purchased a personalized brick for the MBCI Legacy Walkway so we could play a small role in “paving the way for a bright future for the students of MBCI”.

By now we were all ready to enjoy a delicious dinner catered by Danny’s Whole Hog. This was followed by a number of classmates sharing some of their experiences. All of us are grateful for the opportunity to gather and celebrate this happy occasion. A special thanks to Mary Unruh for ALL her valuable help in planning this reunion.
