Welcome to the 2020/2021 School Year

August 17, 2020

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

We’re excited to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. Thank you for your patience as we continue to plan for September. The level of detail we can provide will grow as we get closer to September 8, with the first part of our school plan to be released Thursday, August 20.

For now, we are pleased to share that MBCI will provide in-person learning on campus for all students in grades 6 to 12.

We’re grateful that our facility provides the space for rigorous, innovative learning, while also allowing adherence to public health protocols and the province’s back-to-school guidelines. Within this “new normal” to which we are all adjusting, meaningful education and safety go hand in hand.

On-campus, in-person learning, offers MBCI staff the best opportunity to care for students: supporting students in meeting learning objectives; building relationships and school community; supporting mental health and wellness; modeling and reinforcing safety protocols.

We are currently engaged in adjusting school routines and schedules to accommodate physical distancing and provincial guidelines. We’re confident that our staff and campus are equipped for the year ahead, and we remain committed to providing a learning environment in which students are equipped to learn, love, and engage with the world.

Please watch your email on Thursday, August 20 for a more detailed back-to-school plan. The office has re-opened as of today, August 17, with office hours from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Since we are asked to limit the number of people on campus, please call 204-667-8210 to schedule an appointment if you require in-person assistance.

Andrea Neufeld

Principal, MBCI
