Transportation Cancelation Policy

School provided transportation will be canceled according to the following guidelines. Transportation may also be canceled in the case of adverse road conditions.


City Routes, including the East St. Paul route – transportation for the morning will be canceled if Environment Canada’s reported temperature at the Forks at 6:00 AM is -45°C or colder with the wind chill.


Beausejour Route – transportation for the morning will be canceled if Environment Canada’s reported temperature at the Forks at 5:30 AM is -45°C or colder with the wind chill or if the Weather Channel is reporting the temperature in Beausejour at 5:30 AM is -45°C or colder with the wind chill.


Afternoon Routes – transportation will be reassessed at 12:00 PM and will resume for the afternoon unless the aforementioned conditions still exist. 


Communications – In the event of cancelation in the morning, parents will be notified via text message from their driver by 6:30 AM. Morning cancelations will also be reported on CJOB 680AM. Furthermore, parents will also receive an email shortly after 12:00 PM confirming if transportation is still canceled for the afternoon or if it is resuming. Parents will also receive the same information via text message from their driver. 


In any event, parents should ensure that their children are warmly dressed, or at a minimum have a winter jacket, boots, toque and gloves with them, whenever traveling by MBCI vehicle during the winter season.
